I thought you would enjoy this Friday the 13th story with a silver lining.
This fall my husband and I spent a memorable week in Napa California. My days and balmy evenings consisted of photographing nature’s glorious colors and drinking wine. Really good wine! When I returned home I uploaded the photos to my external hard drive and relived every beautiful moment while processing my favorite images. Well, the Thanksgiving madness began and soon the craziness of the holiday season was in full swing. In mid-December when I was ready to put the photographs on my Blog, the unthinkable happened, my external hard drive crashed! I brought the fried drive to the experts but the news was devastating. Not only had I lost my Napa images but I lost the entire years worth of work. I was so angry at myself for thinking a hard drive would last forever and not backing up my work, as is rule one in Photo 101. So, with every mistake comes a lesson, I now avidly backup everything weekly. Oh, and the silver lining, I just recently went to use the card, which was in the back of the memory card rotation, and I found the images. So relive a little of the fall color palette while enjoy your leap into spring.
